Under construction….
The website is a bit under construction, or reconstruction I should say. I decided to obviously change the theme and layout of the website plus update a few things. In the new website you’ll see a new page tab titled “My Work” which will showcase a lot of my weathering. The “layout and more” page […]

Playing with AI in model railroading….
After watching an informative video done by the New England Industrial Division layout on YouTube about embracing and using AI in model railroading, I decided on this post this evening. I’ve used AI already to produce the signs you see for Armitage Furniture and Monsanto Chemical: These were both produced by an AI program then […]

A wet miserable day….
Here’s another post about my time as a brakeman on the Indiana and Ohio railroad back in the day. On weekends I worked the tourist train the railroad then ran between the towns of Mason Ohio and Lebanon Ohio. One weekend in particular was wet and miserable with steady rain all day with bouts of […]

Who are these people?….
For all the newcomers, you may ask “who are these people he’s talking about working the railroad?” Are they make believe or….? Well, the answer is they are names of real people I worked with on the Indiana and Ohio railroad. Fred, Charlie, Dan, Jim, Bob, and John are all real railroaders I worked with!

Out of order – temporarily…
Well, my Paasche airbrush of many years finally bit the dust several days ago, with both the needle, o ring that the aircap screws up against, and a cracked nozzle all conking out. I’ve ordered replacement parts and should be back up and weathering next Wednesday, so stay tuned for updates on these projects. I […]

Always looking…..
I’m always looking for more communication work to do! I’ve pretty much gotten away from weathering locomotives for various reasons and want to concentrate on rolling stock. From light weathering to heavy, if you want that one or more special car(s) to stand out on your layout, just click on the contact tab to see […]

A super hot August day….
Another story from my days on the Indiana and Ohio railroad. During my last year with the railroad as track inspector I was inspecting the Mason Ohio to Lebanon Ohio line one day during the first week of August. This was the line that the railroad at that time ran their own tourist train between […]

The evolution of a Kyle RR boxcar…
So in this post I’ll be showing the steps I took to weather one of the latest cars I finished and sold on eBay. I have to say this is probably one of the best cars I’ve done. To start off with, this car had three or four layers of weathering mediums on the car, […]

Just arrived…
Arrived today, the Tangent PRR gondola. Wheels, trucks, and underside weren’t painted or weathered but are now! Weathered the underside with three colors of acrylics plus black/grey pigment to simulate built up grime. ACI plates added as well:

Another story from the Indiana and Ohio….
Here’s another story today from my time on the Indiana and Ohio railroad. There is a crossing on the line over to Monroe, Ohio right next to I would guess the largest flea market in Ohio called Traders World. This crossing is on state highway 63 which runs from Interstate 25 over to Lebanon, Ohio […]

Great show….
This weekend wrapped up yesterday with a pretty good spring train show. I’m surprised several well known manufacturers were not there, such as Athearn for example. Good to see three people I used to work with at Caboose Hobbies plus being able to chat with Michelle from the Colorado Model Railroad Museum, Chris Lane from […]

A huge thank you….!
A huge thank you to all the new subscribers, followers, and views the past three days, I greatly appreciate it! I know on some websites much like YouTube that owners receive income based on the number of viewers and or subscribers. I don’t make a penny as I’ve never signed up for monetary gain…..
